At the opening of the international scientific conference “Jadids: national identity, statehood and ideas of independence,” the presidential aide called for “putting an end to this issue”.
“Our ancestor-educator Abdulla Avloniy said: “The mirror that reflects the existence of any nation in the world is its language and literature. The loss of the national language is the loss of the spirit of the nation”.
Opening today the International Scientific Conference “Jadids: National Identity, Statehood and Ideas of Independence”, I specifically focused on a very pressing issue directly related to our language – the reform of the national alphabet.
For example, a spelling sign that seems ordinary at first glance becomes the reason for the incorrect spelling of the names of our state and nation. Therefore, it is important that we, rather than continue endless debates on this issue, quickly make a decision. After all, we are talking about our nation, pride, the name of our country.
Yes, alphabet reform can lead to new disputes, discussions, and unforeseen expenses. But once again I want to note that when it comes to the correct spelling of the name of the Motherland and the nation, I believe that we must stop such disputes and debates, introduce some changes in the alphabet and thereby put an end to this issue!” Mirziyoyeva said.
