Ex-governor of Akdarya district detained while receiving $200,000 in bribe from a businessman
A person who worked as the governor of Akdarya district of Samarkand region, a former employee of internal affairs and a citizen engaged in brokerage demanded $6 million in exchange for the registration of 11 hectares of land in Kuyi Chirchik. They were caught red-handed when they received $200,000 in advance in one of the cafes in Tashkent.
The former governor of Akdarya district was arrested while receiving $200,000 from a businessman, the SSS press service reported.
Allegedly, a person who previously worked as the governor of Akdarya district of Samarkand region, a former employee of the internal affairs bodies and a citizen engaged in brokering activities colluded with each other and fraudulently earned the trust of a businessman.
In particular, they demanded $6 million in exchange for 11.1 hectares of land (located in the the territory of "Surum" mahalla Kuyi Chirchik district, Tashkent region) given to a limited liability company belonging to another citizen to be registered under his name through his acquaintances working in a high position.
In an operative event held by the State Security Service for Tashkent region in cooperation with the PGO Department for Combating Economic Crimes, these three persons were caught with material evidence when they received $200,000 in advance from the requested amount in one of the cafes in Tashkent.
