Uzbek man taken hostage by a criminal gang in Dubai rescued
With the support of diplomats of the Consulate General of Uzbekistan in Dubai, our compatriot J.T., who was held hostage by an unknown criminal group, was released from captivity.
Reportedly, according to an appeal sent to the Consulate General of our country through close relatives of the hostage, our compatriot J.T. was forcibly held by a group of individuals at an unknown address in Dubai. They demanded a total of $200,000 from him for his release.
During a joint event with representatives of the Consulate General and law enforcement agencies of the UAE, the whereabouts of the Uzbek citizen were revealed, after which he was released.
Currently, most members of the criminal group have been detained by UAE law enforcement agencies, and an investigation has begun.
