Criminal group stole gas condensate worth 1.1 billion soums in Kashkadarya

On January 25, 2024, an operative event was held in Kashkadarya region by employees of the law enforcement agencies, the press service of the Prosecutor General’s Office reported.

Allegedly, 5 persons formed a criminal group and punctured the gas condensate pipeline belonging to the foreign enterprise “Epsilon Development company” LLC crossing the territory of Shirinabad mahalla of Nishan district. The wrongdoers, who stole 8.9 tons of condensate fuel worth 17.4 million soums by installing a tap, were detained.

During the investigation, it was found that 568.5 tons of gas condensate fuel worth 1.1 billion soums was looted by this criminal group.

It is noted that the Karshi specialized prosecutor’s office initiated a criminal case under Article 169, Part 4, Paragraph “a” of the Criminal Code. 5 persons were detained in procedural order. Preliminary investigation is currently underway.
