Mayor of Akhangaran released from duties 

The governor of Tashkent region, Zoyir Mirzayev, has sanctioned the departure of Akrom Eshonkulov from his position as the mayor of the city of Akhangaran. Eshonkulov's release was based on his own resignation request.

In a farewell address distributed by the city administration, Eshonkulov expressed his gratitude for the opportunity to have served, emphasizing that every minute in his role has left an indelible mark on his life. He conveyed his appreciation towards the president and mentioned that Akhangaran had become as dear to him as his hometown. Eshonkulov acknowledged the collective effort in any successes achieved for the city's prosperity and sincerely apologized if he had inadvertently offended anyone during his tenure.

"Dear city of Akhangaran, I am sorry for any upset I may have caused. Goodbye, my beloved city," Eshonkulov concluded in his post.

The reasons for his departure have not been disclosed.

Born in 1976 in the Lower Chirchik district of Tashkent region, Akrom Eshonkulov is an economist by profession, having graduated from the Plekhanov Russian University of Economics and Tashkent State University of Economics (master's degree).

Before his appointment as the mayor of Akhangaran, he functioned as the acting chief specialist at the Cabinet of Ministers' office responsible for the social and economic development of the city of Almalyk in Tashkent region. Over the years, Eshonkulov held roles as the head of the information-analytical group of the Tashkent regional administration, the first deputy mayor of the city of Akhangaran, and as the acting mayor.

Eshonkulov was appointed as the mayor of Akhangaran on June 4, 2020, succeeding Odiljon Jurayev.
