The victims, who included a father and his two sons, lost their lives on September 2 while swimming in the reservoir near the Burchmulla neighborhood in the Bostanlyk district of the Tashkent region.
The family of five had rented a boat to tour the reservoir, with the father, his wife, their daughter, and two sons on board, along with the boat driver. The accident occurred after the boat stopped so the family could take photographs, when one of the sons entered the water without a life jacket; after his leg cramped, his father and the other son jumped in to help, followed by the boat driver, who was unable to reach them.

Divers arrived soon after the incident was reported and began searching for the three men. The ministry said it set up a command post at the site to coordinate the large-scale search operation, given the reservoir's depth.
Rescue teams from Jizzakh and Syrdarya regions have also joined the search.

The body of one of the victims was recovered at 1:02 p.m. on September 9, the ministry said.
The search for the other two victims is continuing.
