Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan intensifying interregional cooperation
Employees of the Consulate General of Uzbekistan in the city of Osh met with the Plenipotentiary Representative of the President of Kyrgyzstan in the Jalalabad region, Absattar Sirgabayev.
At the meeting, issues of implementation of the “roadmap” for the development of cooperation between Namangan and Jalalabad regions were discussed.
During the negotiations, the Kyrgyz side presented information about the region, its economic potential and points of growth in interaction. It was noted that as part of the implementation of the corresponding “roadmap”, meetings and dialogues are regularly organized between official departments of the two regions, representatives of the business community and the fields of science and culture. A bilateral business forum between entrepreneurs is held twice a year. As part of the events held in 2023, contracts worth $10 million were signed between various enterprises. Cooperation in the field of tourism is developing dynamically – in 2023, more than 10 thousand tourists from Uzbekistan visited the Jalalabad region.
The results of cooperation between these regions were discussed.
Following the meeting, an agreement was reached to continue the practice of organizing business forums, B2B meetings and info tours, as well as other joint cultural events.
