IsDB to allocate funds for comprehensive development of rural areas in Uzbekistan
In 2024-2028, the infrastructure of villages will be improved in 21 districts of Samarkand, Surkhandarya and Kashkadarya regions. For this purpose, a preferential loan in the amount of $260 million for a period of 20 years is being attracted from the Islamic Development Bank.

The President signed a decree “On measures to implement the project “Integrated development of rural areas” (2nd stage) with the participation of the Islamic Development Bank”.
A preferential loan in the amount of $260 million is being attracted from the Islamic Development Bank for a period of 20 years. In 2024-2028, using loan funds, the infrastructure of villages in 21 districts of Samarkand, Surkhandarya and Kashkadarya regions will be improved.
As part of the project, 20 schools (19 in Samarkand), 14 kindergartens, 10 family doctor offices (all in Samarkand), 200 km of drinking water networks, 368 km of electrical networks, and 53 transformers will be built.
About 330 kilometers of road infrastructure will be improved, for which 717 billion soums will be spent.
