Four ancient coins confiscated at Bukhara Airport

The attempt to smuggle these historical artifacts was thwarted by the vigilant staff of the Bukhara Airport customs office, acting on a tip-off. The coins were concealed within the post of the airport's customs checkpoint under the Bukhara Airport administration's jurisdiction.

Two citizens, who were attempting to carry these items out of Uzbekistan on the "Bukhara-Vnukovo" flight route, were detained. Upon inspection, it was revealed that they were carrying valuable historical artifacts from Uzbekistan. Following further investigation, a total of four ancient coins were discovered.

In order to determine the authenticity and historical significance of these coins, a thorough examination was conducted by the Cultural Heritage Department of the Bukhara Regional Administration.

The coins were confirmed to have been minted in Ekaterinburg in 1751 during the reign of Emperor Peter I of the Russian Empire, based on preliminary expert analysis.

Currently, these ancient numismatic treasures have been submitted to the Bukhara State Museum for safekeeping and further study.
