BYD Han driver deliberately injures a traffic policeman in Tashkent
Traffic police inspector Khumoyun Sharipov, who was on duty in the Chilanzar district of Tashkent, received a fracture of both legs as a result of a deliberate collision with a 22-year-old BYD Han car driver (license number 10 Y 070 GB, Tashkent region), the press service of the capital’s traffic police department reported.
The incident occurred on May 12 at approximately 19:20 on Lutfi Street. The movement of the car aroused the traffic officer’s suspicion, and he signaled the driver to stop using a baton and a whistle.
Driver – O.A. (born in 2002), who does not have a driver’s license, – did not obey the officer’s legal demands and continued driving. After 150-200 meters, he turned around.
The traffic police officer again signaled to stop and completely stopped the movement of vehicles. O.A., deliberately ignoring the employee’s demands, ran over him and knocked him down.
Khumoyun Sharipov was hospitalized with a diagnosis of a fracture of both femurs.
The Chilanzar district prosecutor’s office opened a criminal case on the grounds of a crime under Article 219 (“Resistance to a government official or a person performing a civic duty”) and Part 1 of Article 266 (“Violation of traffic safety rules) of the Criminal Code. An investigation is underway.
