Swedish experts get acquainted with progress of reforms in Uzbekistan
On the invitation of the Center for Baltic and East European Studies (CBEES) at Södertjörn University, the Ambassador of Uzbekistan to Sweden Nodir Ganiyev and the first vice-rector of the University of World Economy and Diplomacy Akrom Umarov took part in a round table on the topic “Geopolitical shifts and multi-vector diplomacy in Central Asia”.
Head of the Department of Eastern Europe and Central Asia of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Sweden Daniel Orham, Director of Research at the Institute of Eurasian Studies at Uppsala University Mark Bassin, Professor at Texas A&M University (USA) Edward Lemon, Professor at the University of Glasgow Luca Ancheschi and other invited European experts made presentations at the event.
Uzbek delegates introduced the participants to the main provisions of the “Uzbekistan-2030” Strategy, the priorities of the country’s foreign policy, the development of relations with the countries of Central Asia, as well as cooperation with other international partners.
The round table participants also discussed the foreign policy implemented by the countries of Central Asia in the current complex geopolitical situation.
