Nurobod resident arrested for defrauding citizens with false promises of work in the UK
An individual in the Nurobod district was arrested for attempting to illegally send five people to England for work. He had collected $10,400 from the citizens.
The Department for Combating Economic Crimes under the Prosecutor General's Office of Samarkand region reported that a person was arrested in the Nurobod district for promising to send citizens to work in England.
According to the report, the individual, identified as E.Kh., falsely promised to send five citizens to England for work, allegedly through acquaintances working at a company in England. He managed to obtain a total of $10,400 from them.
A criminal case has been initiated under Article 168 of the Criminal Code (Fraud). Currently, investigative actions are underway.
Previously, individuals were arrested for attempting to illegally send citizens to England for $18,000 and to Canada for $3,000. In Karakalpakstan, another person was caught promising to obtain visas to Serbia or Bulgaria for $1,500.
