Uzbekistan sees 42% surge in EV imports
However, the value of imported electric cars dropped by more than a quarter, with China’s share rising to 99.3%.
Uzbekistan increased its electric vehicle imports by 42% from January to July this year, according to the Statistics Agency.
Over the seven-month period, more than 10,540 electric cars were delivered to the country. Compared to the same period last year, the number of imported electric vehicles increased by 42.6%.
However, the value of electric vehicle imports dropped by 28.8%—to $156 million.
China remains the dominant supplier of electric vehicles, significantly increasing its market share in Uzbekistan from 93% to 99.3% year-on-year. Additionally, imports came from Hong Kong, Germany, and the UAE, which together accounted for only 35 electric cars.
