Russia proposes full membership for Uzbekistan in Interstate Anti-Corruption Council to boost cooperation
Russia’s Prosecutor General, Igor Krasnov, stated that Uzbekistan’s experience in combating corruption would be valuable for the Interstate Anti-Corruption Council (IACC), and full membership in the council would increase its significance.
“I am convinced that the Republic of Uzbekistan’s full membership in the Council will give it greater weight, and the significant experience of the anti-corruption work led by your agency will be in demand in the practical activities of all members of the organization,” Krasnov said on September 19 during a meeting with Akmal Burkhanov, Director of Uzbekistan’s Anti-Corruption Agency.
Russia’s Prosecutor General proposed that Akmal Burkhanov consider signing a cooperation agreement, which would enhance the effectiveness of joint efforts in combating corruption.

For the first time, a delegation from Uzbekistan participated in the meeting of the Interstate Anti-Corruption Council as an observer.
The IACC currently includes representatives from Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, and Tajikistan.
