Futsal World Cup 2024: Uzbekistan eliminated after defeat to Costa Rica in group stage

In the third round of the 2024 Futsal World Cup, Uzbekistan suffered a defeat against Costa Rica, thus ending their participation in the tournament prematurely.

A victory in this match would have given José Venancio López’s squad the chance to finish third and advance to the playoffs. However, the team lost with a score of 3-5. The goals for Uzbekistan were scored by Mashrab Odilov, Ilhom Khamraev, and Samariddin Berkinov.

Uzbekistan finished last in Group A, in 4th place. Paraguay and the Netherlands secured the top two positions and advanced to the playoffs, while Costa Rica still holds a strong chance of progressing.
