Police arrest Tashkent man for storing 38 kg of narcotics in his home
A man has been arrested in Tashkent’s Uchtepa district for illegally storing a large quantity of narcotics in his residence, according to the Ministry of Internal Affairs' Rapid Response Department.
On September 27, law enforcement officers conducted a search at the suspect's home in the Okmachit neighborhood. The man, born in 1962 and with a prior criminal record, was found to be storing 38.1 kilograms of marijuana in various forms in his storeroom.
Authorities discovered two dried cannabis plants weighing 10 kg, along with additional quantities of marijuana stored in various containers: 13 kg in 13 jars, 12.2 kg in three boxes, 2 kg in two sacks, 700 grams in a black plastic bag, and 200 grams in several pieces of paper.
The seized narcotics were properly documented, and a criminal case has been initiated under Articles 25 and 273 of the Criminal Code of Uzbekistan. These articles pertain to the illegal preparation, possession, and distribution of narcotics with the intent to sell. An investigation is currently underway.
