A passenger detained at Tashkent airport for attempting to transport sweets with cannabis (video)
In addition to sweets, the passenger brought a full set of devices for the use of narcotic drugs, the press service of the State Customs Committee reported.
Customs officers are taking urgent measures to combat drug trafficking.
The restless behavior of one of the passengers of the New York-Tashkent plane, which had just landed at the capital’s airport, while crossing the customs border through the green corridor, attracted the attention of customs officers.
The passenger’s luggage was examined in the prescribed manner using X-ray equipment. As a result, the highlighted images showed the presence of suspicious items in his luggage.
During the customs inspection, the items that aroused suspicion turned out to be ordinary sweets. But were they really that harmless?
Those beautifully packaged chocolates and other sweets might not have aroused any suspicion from the customs officers at first glance. Because it is a common occurrence to bring gifts from foreign trips. But no matter how sad it may sound, the realities of modern life require greater vigilance from customs officers.
All of these sweets – 18 gummies, 2 gummies and 1 10-unit chocolates contained cannabis oil. And this information was reflected on the packaging of all these products.
And that’s not all, during the customs inspection in the passenger’s hand luggage and luggage, 14 units of various devices for the use of narcotic drugs, one device for grinding, and 4 bundles of special paper used for smoking drugs were found.
Moreover, in the case for glasses, which also belonged to the passenger, customs officers found a hidden polyethylene bundle with marijuana in the amount of 1.2 grams.
The owner of the cargo stated that he used these drugs for medical purposes and was not familiar with the current procedures. However, ignorance of the law is no excuse.
Unfortunately, in recent years, attempts to popularize narcotic drugs and synthetic drugs in the form of lollipops, various caramels, chewing gum or chocolates have become more frequent in foreign countries. Seeming at first glance as just harmless sweets, in fact, they pose a serious threat to human health, and especially children.
In this regard, the customs authorities continue to take measures to strengthen customs control, use modern technical means and methods.
Currently, the revealed fact is under investigation.
