Statistics Agency Director Bahodir Begalov steps down

Bahodir Begalov, the Director of the Statistics Agency under the President of Uzbekistan, has been relieved of his position. Begalov had been leading the statistics body since May 2017.

According to a government source cited by Gazeta.uz, Bahodir Begalov, 56, was officially dismissed from his role as Director of the Statistics Agency.

From May 2017, Begalov served as the Chairman of the State Statistics Committee. Following the committee's reorganization in December 2022, he was appointed Director of the newly formed Statistics Agency.

Earlier in his career, from 2012 to 2016, Begalov held the position of Deputy Chairman of the State Statistics Committee. Subsequently, he was appointed as the Rector of Tashkent Financial Institute.
