Propane prices in Uzbekistan rise by over 30% in less than a month
The wholesale price of liquefied gas in Uzbekistan has risen sharply, increasing by 30.6% since the beginning of June.

According to data from the Commodity and Raw Materials Exchange, the average price of propane per ton was 5.12 million UZS during trading on May 30. By June 24, this figure had jumped to 6.689 million UZS.
In particular, propane prices rose by 6.6% over the last two days of trading. On June 24, the volume of propane sold decreased from 1,853 tons the day before to 1,502 tons.
A similar spike in propane prices was observed during the summer of last year. As reported by Kun.uz, between June 5 and September 5, 2024, the price of propane on the exchange climbed from 5.3 million UZS to 8.9 million UZS per ton — an increase of 68%.
In November, after propane prices had nearly doubled over five months, the Competition Committee imposed a 20% cap (spread) on the markup between the starting and final price of propane sold on the exchange.
