“Today not only borders, but also our hearts are open” – Saida Mirziyoyeva speaks at an event in Bishkek
During her visit to Kyrgyzstan, Head of the Presidential Administration of Uzbekistan Saida Mirziyoyeva took part in the closing ceremony of the Zakovat Asian Cup II tournament in Bishkek, where she delivered a speech.

She recalled how borders that were once closed have now been opened, barbed wire that once divided villages – with Uzbeks on one side and Kyrgyz on the other – has been removed, families once separated have reunited, and children have returned to the embrace of their parents.
Mirziyoyeva quoted the words of Uzbek literary scholar and Hero of Uzbekistan Ozod Sharafiddinov, who once said: “Chingiz Aitmatov’s The White Ship is a ship of hope and salvation for humanity.” She noted that time itself had proven the truth of this statement.
“In today’s complex world, where tensions, conflicts and instability are on the rise, it is not only we, the peoples of Central Asia – in particular Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan – who recognize the atmosphere of harmony, respect and peace prevailing here, but the international community also acknowledges it,” Mirziyoyeva said.
She stressed that thanks to the political will of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev of Uzbekistan and President Sadyr Japarov of Kyrgyzstan, the two countries once again stand together in unity.
“This exemplary path demonstrated by our Leaders is a guarantee of the well-being of our peoples and the development of our states. Because today not only borders, but also our hearts are open! Our youth are working shoulder to shoulder with sincere dedication in science, culture, art, sports, entrepreneurship, and in intellectual competitions such as today’s – and they are achieving great results,” Mirziyoyeva emphasized.
As reported earlier, Saida Mirziyoyeva visited the Kyrgyz capital Bishkek on 19–20 August this year. During her trip, she met with President Sadyr Japarov and with Adylbek Kasymaliev, Head of the Presidential Administration of the Kyrgyz Republic and Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers. She also attended the international forum “Women – leaders who change the world for the better” held in Bishkek.
