Uzbekistan introduces mobile app for passenger customs declarations
Passengers entering or leaving Uzbekistan can now submit their customs declarations online through a mobile app. Instead of manually typing in IMEI codes for devices with SIM cards, users can simply scan them in the app. For now, this convenience is available only at Tashkent International Airport but will be introduced at all border checkpoints starting from November 1. The Customs Committee has also promised to provide free Wi-Fi zones for passengers using the app.
The State Customs Committee of Uzbekistan has introduced the option to fill out and submit passenger customs declarations online through a new mobile application called “Yo‘lovchi deklaratsiyasi” (Passenger Declaration), which is available for download on Play Market and App Store.
After entering passport details, some sections of the declaration will be automatically filled in. The user then enters information about the destination or country of entry, as well as any currency, valuables, or other goods being carried.
The app allows users to input the 15-digit IMEI codes of devices with SIM cards by scanning them rather than typing them manually.
The mobile app is currently being tested at Tashkent International Airport, and from November 1, it will be fully implemented at all border checkpoints.
“In addition, work is underway to install information kiosks at customs checkpoints, enabling passengers to submit declarations through them as well. Free Wi-Fi zones will be established at border posts to allow individuals to use the mobile application,” the Customs Committee said in a statement.
According to the committee, submitting declarations online helps prevent errors and delays that can occur with paper forms – such as late data entry, mistakes or omissions, and unauthorized changes to declarations.
For reference, the task of implementing the passenger customs declaration mobile application by November 1, 2025, to make border crossing more convenient, was set by Presidential Decree No. 57 of March 25, 2025.
