President Mirziyoyev holds talks with members of U.S. Congress in Washington
President Shavkat Mirziyoyev met with members of the U.S. House of Representatives Bill Huizenga, Carol Miller, and Sydney Kamlager-Dove during his visit to Washington, D.C., on November 5.

The meeting focused on advancing the strategic partnership between Uzbekistan and the United States and enhancing cooperation between the legislative bodies of the two countries.

Both sides expressed satisfaction with the growing engagement between the parliaments and the constructive work of the Congressional Caucus on Uzbekistan. It was noted that the annual Uzbekistan Days held in the U.S. House of Representatives, with the support of the Caucus, have become an important platform for deepening bilateral ties.

President Mirziyoyev highlighted the vital role of the U.S. Congress in supporting the implementation of high-level agreements, particularly in trade, investment, culture, and humanitarian cooperation.

The discussion also addressed the expansion of interregional partnerships, with an emphasis on developing cooperation with the states of West Virginia, Michigan, and California – home states of the visiting lawmakers.
At the end of the meeting, the sides agreed to arrange a visit by U.S. congressional representatives to Uzbekistan and to facilitate reciprocal exchanges of business delegations led by regional leaders.
