US logistics firms plan to open offices and invest in Uzbekistan
The offices will provide dispatching and other freight transportation services for the US market.
Several US technology companies plan to establish branches in Uzbekistan, the Ministry of Digital Technologies reported.
During his working visit, Minister of Digital Technologies Sherzod Shermatov held a series of meetings with American partners. In particular, he discussed cooperation in logistics outsourcing and workforce training with Wersirius Holding co-founder Danilo Tosic.
The sides noted the potential for creating a modern logistics support ecosystem in Uzbekistan with the participation of Wersirius. The company intends to open an operations center under the IT Park residency program to provide back-office services, including dispatching, cargo tracking, staff recruitment, and security management.
At the initial stage, the center will create 50 jobs, which will later expand to 200. The company also plans to broaden its activities in Uzbekistan in areas such as technical support and software development.
In addition, Wersirius intends to launch training programs in logistics, sales, dispatching, and recruitment. Both sides emphasized the potential for strengthening logistics cooperation among Uzbekistan, Serbia, and the United States.
Following this, Shermatov, together with IT Park representatives, met with the American-Moldovan Association of Logistics and Transport (AMALT). The meeting focused on a project to establish a transport operations center in Uzbekistan.
The future center will provide accounting, dispatching, compliance, and customer support services for Moldovan companies operating in the United States – including Nova Lines, C1 Management, CargoBoss, and Forsage Logistics. It is expected to employ up to 400 people.
AMALT expressed its readiness to invest in digital transport solutions and educational programs, as well as in local accelerators for startups. This is expected to help integrate innovative developments of Uzbek startups into the US ecosystem.
