The incident took place on 8 November 2025, when 28-year-old M.M., who had rented out his apartment in the Khadra neighborhood to a young couple, visited the property while the husband was at work. Claiming he needed to inspect the water meter readings, he entered the apartment and began making unwanted sexual advances toward the woman.

According to the victim’s testimony, the man told her that her husband “was not good enough” for her and said he wanted to marry her himself. He then suggested having sexual relations, attempted to hug her from behind and tried to kiss her. The woman screamed and grabbed a knife in an attempt to defend herself. The commotion drew the attention of other tenants living nearby, who came to the apartment.

During the hearing, M.M. denied the allegations, while the woman insisted that she was subjected to harassment and demanded legal action. “He made sexual advances. I panicked and didn’t know what to do. I have been married for nine months, and I had to grab a knife to protect myself. I immediately called my husband and told him everything,” she said in court.

On 26 November 2025, the Shaykhontohur District Administrative Court found M.M. guilty of committing sexual harassment under Part 1 of Article 41-1 of the Administrative Liability Code. He was sentenced to five days in administrative detention.

Earlier, another man in Tashkent received a similar five-day administrative sentence for harassing girls on a city bus.
