Emergency medical teams in Uzbekistan double in eight years as call volumes rise
In 2025, Uzbekistan’s emergency medical service received a total of 14.3 million calls, according to the Ministry of Health.

The ministry released detailed statistics showing call volumes by region and type of medical issue.
Of the total calls, 10.2 million were classified as urgent, 3.8 million were related to chronic illnesses, and 100,500 involved childbirth.
Tashkent recorded the highest number of emergency calls at 1.5 million, followed by Andijan region and Surkhandarya region, each with 1.3 million calls. The lowest volumes were reported in Jizzakh region (562,000), Bukhara region (678,000), and Khorezm region (688,000).
The Ministry of Health highlighted that over the past eight years, the number of “103” emergency service units has risen from 818 to 1,680, while the number of ambulance teams increased from 1,648 to 2,865. The introduction of an electronic automated management system has reduced average response times from 25–30 minutes to 10–15 minutes.
