The proposal was discussed on August 19 during a meeting between Fergana region governor Khayrullo Bozorov and a delegation led by Alexey Dremuchev, director general of Rosatom Central Asia.
The sides discussed expanding cooperation, implementing investment projects and localizing production. Dremuchev presented Rosatom’s main areas of activity, including nuclear power, mechanical engineering, nuclear medicine, digital technologies and advanced materials manufacturing.
The potential launch of a pilot project in healthcare was one of the key areas discussed. The sides also considered joint projects in the fuel and energy sector, energy storage, composite materials manufacturing, personnel training, and transport and logistics.
Following the meeting, the sides agreed to develop a roadmap covering priority areas of cooperation and joint projects, with specific steps for implementation.
Bozorov expressed the regional administration’s readiness to support mutually beneficial initiatives and joint projects.
On August 20, Rosatom representatives visited Central Asian Medical University in Fergana, where they reviewed the training of medical specialists and discussed prospects for further cooperation.
