Uzhydromet warns of avalanche risk in mountain areas of six regions
Avalanches are expected in mountainous areas in the coming days due to precipitation and a drop in temperatures.
According to Uzhydromet, in connection with the forecast precipitation and changes in air temperature, an avalanche hazard is possible from January 16–19 in the following foothill and mountain areas of the country:
• Kashkadarya region – Dehkanabad, Kitab, Kamashi, Shakhrisabz districts;
• Surkhandarya region – Baysun, Kumkurgan, Sariosiyo, Uzun districts;
• Samarkand region – Nurabad, Kushrabat, Samarkand, Urgut districts;
• Jizzakh region – Bakhmal, Zamin districts;
• Tashkent region – Bostanlyk, Parkent, Akhangaran districts;
• Namangan region – Pap district.
Residents of foothill and mountainous areas, holidaymakers, and drivers traveling to mountain regions have been urged to observe safety precautions.
