Uzhydromet issues avalanche warning for mountainous regions across Uzbekistan

According to Uzhydromet, the avalanche danger is expected to persist from February 24–25. The warning covers specific districts within the following six regions:
- Kashkadarya region: Dehkanabad, Kitab, Kamashi, and Shakhrisabz districts.
- Surkhandarya region: Boysun, Kumkurgan, Sariasia, and Uzun districts.
- Samarkand region: Nurabad, Kushrabat, Samarkand, and Urgut districts.
- Jizzakh region: Bakhmal and Zaamin districts.
- Tashkent region: Bostanlyk, Parkent, and Akhangaran districts.
- Namangan region: Pop district.
Authorities have strongly advised residents living in these foothill and mountainous areas, as well as tourists and drivers traveling through these regions, to strictly observe all necessary safety precautions.
Unstable weather conditions and fluctuating temperatures significantly increase the likelihood of snow masses sliding. Travelers are encouraged to monitor official weather updates and avoid high-risk slopes during this period.
