Following the recent suspension of Umrah pilgrimages from Uzbekistan due to the volatile security situation in the Middle East, the national carrier is prioritizing the return of its citizens. Starting March 2, 2026, Uzbekistan Airways is organizing dedicated repatriation flights on the Jeddah – Tashkent route.

These flights are specifically designed to transport Uzbek nationals who had previously traveled to Saudi Arabia for the Umrah pilgrimage via the airline’s scheduled services.

The airline's press service further clarified that the transportation of pilgrims to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia under the Umrah program has been halted until further notice. This restriction specifically impacts Uzbekistan Airways flights operating on the Tashkent – Jeddah – Tashkent route.

The decision aligns with broader national safety measures aimed at protecting citizens amid regional airspace closures and rising tensions in the Middle East. Passengers are advised to stay tuned to official airline announcements for further updates regarding the resumption of standard flight schedules.
