President Mirziyoyev signs decree pardoning 392 inmates
President Shavkat Mirziyoyev has signed a decree granting clemency to 392 individuals currently serving sentences for various offenses.
According to the official statement, those selected for pardon have demonstrated sincere remorse for their actions and have shown a clear path toward rehabilitation.
The presidential decree outlines several forms of relief for the affected individuals, ensuring a structured transition back into society:
- 223 persons have been fully released from their primary sentences.
- 82 persons have been granted conditional early release from their terms.
- 34 persons had their prison sentences commuted to lighter forms of punishment.
- 53 persons received a reduction in their remaining prison terms.
The group of 392 individuals represents a diverse cross–section of those within the penal system. The list includes:
- 166 young people.
- 26 women.
- 24 individuals previously involved in the activities of prohibited organizations.
- 14 men over the age of 60.
- 3 foreign nationals.
To ensure the success of this humanitarian act, the president has issued specific directives to relevant ministries and agencies. The focus is not merely on release, but on comprehensive social adaptation.
Responsible authorities have been tasked with returning the pardoned individuals to their families and providing necessary assistance in securing employment. Furthermore, the state will provide support to help these citizens adopt healthy lifestyles and effectively reintegrate into their local communities.
