Competition Committee flags Uzum Tezkor and BeeMarket among e-commerce platforms for consumer rights violations

During the analysis of websites and online sales conditions, the Committee identified 26 violations in the public offer of the Uzum Tezkor service. Similarly, the BeeMarket platform, operated by Unitel LLC, was found to have 18 violations. The audit also discovered that the platforms Orzon.uz and BROSTORE lacked public offers entirely, while Seide International failed to provide its terms in the state language.

Systemic issues in the e-commerce sector

The inspection highlighted a range of systemic problems currently affecting the digital marketplace in Uzbekistan, including:

• Refusal to exchange or refund money for low-quality goods.
• Provision of incomplete or inaccurate information to consumers.
• Violation of delivery deadlines.
• Non-compliance with linguistic requirements for official contracts.

Following the audit, the Committee issued mandatory instructions and inquiries to the involved companies, requiring them to rectify the identified discrepancies. As of today, the public offers of these organizations have been updated to meet legal requirements.

In light of these findings, the regulatory body reminded consumers to exercise caution when making online purchases. Shoppers are advised to:
