Emomali Rahmon arrives in Uzbekistan
At the invitation of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, the President of Tajikistan, Emomali Rahmon, arrived in Uzbekistan on March 26 for a high-level state visit. The distinguished guest was personally welcomed by the Uzbek leader at the Tashkent–Humo international airport.
The visit marks a significant political milestone in the bilateral relations between the two neighboring nations. During the official welcoming ceremony, the national flags of both countries were raised, and a guard of honor was lined up to greet the Tajik leader.

The visit features a packed schedule of diplomatic engagements aimed at deepening the partnership between Tashkent and Dushanbe. According to official reports, the heads of state will hold bilateral negotiations today to discuss a wide range of cooperation issues.
A centerpiece of the diplomatic itinerary is the first meeting of the Supreme Interstate Council. During these high-level talks, the parties are expected to focus on several strategic sectors, including:
- Political dialogue and regional security.
- Trade and economic expansion.
- Transport and communication infrastructure.
- Cultural, humanitarian, and interregional cooperation.
The discussions are expected to yield new agreements that will facilitate smoother transit, increased trade turnover, and stronger ties between the border regions of Uzbekistan and Tajikistan.
