Shavkat Mirziyoyev joins world leaders at World Urban Forum opening ceremony
President Shavkat Mirziyoyev attended the opening ceremony of the 13th session of the World Urban Forum in Baku. The event brings together heads of state and government, international organizations, and development institutions in the Azerbaijani capital.
Organized under the auspices of the United Nations Human Settlements Programme (UN–Habitat), this year's forum focuses on the theme "Housing the World: Safe and Resilient Cities and Communities".
Upon his arrival at the Baku Congress Center, Shavkat Mirziyoyev was welcomed by Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev and the Executive Director of UN–Habitat, Anacláudia Rossbach. The opening ceremony also included an official group photograph of the participating heads of delegation.
The forum's agenda features critical discussions on sustainable urban development, providing populations with modern and affordable housing, improving the quality of the urban environment, and strengthening climate resilience. Participants are also addressing the development of urban transportation and social infrastructure.
President Mirziyoyev is scheduled to deliver a speech outlining Uzbekistan's urban development priorities and global cooperation initiatives during the Leaders' Summit of the forum.
