President Mirziyoyev to visit Russia for St. Petersburg economic forum
President Shavkat Mirziyoyev will travel to Russia on June 4–5 for a working visit to St. Petersburg at the invitation of Russian President Vladimir Putin.
Mirziyoyev is scheduled to attend and address the plenary session of the 2026 St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF), which is being held under the theme “Pragmatic Dialogue – The Path to a Stable Future”.
During his speech, the president will share his perspective on the current state of the global economy and outline the prospects for deepening economic cooperation between Uzbekistan and Russia.
He will also highlight the current development priorities shaping Uzbekistan's domestic policy and economic agenda.
The itinerary for the two-day visit includes a bilateral meeting with President Putin to discuss key aspects of the strategic partnership between Tashkent and Moscow.
A central highlight of the visit will be the participation of both leaders in a virtual ceremony to mark the official commencement of construction on Uzbekistan's first integrated nuclear power plant. The milestone project will be formally launched via video link during the working visit.
