President Mirziyoyev congratulates Kyrgyzstan on election to UN Security Council
President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev held a telephone conversation with the President of the Kyrgyz Republic Sadyr Japarov on June 4.
At the beginning of the conversation, Mirziyoyev warmly congratulated the Kyrgyz President and the people of the neighboring country on Kyrgyzstan’s election as a non-permanent member of the UN Security Council for the 2027–2028 term. President Mirziyoyev emphasized that this historic milestone serves as clear evidence of the international community's high recognition of Kyrgyzstan's active foreign policy and its significant contributions to regional stability and security.
Both leaders confirmed their mutual readiness to continue maintaining close coordination and providing mutual support across various international platforms.
During the talks, the heads of state expressed deep satisfaction with the current high standard of Uzbek–Kyrgyz relations, which remain rooted in strong friendship, good-neighborliness, and a comprehensive strategic partnership.
A central focus of the discussion was directed toward the practical implementation of bilateral agreements reached during previous high-level summits. The presidents specifically reviewed progress in key sectors including the economy, transportation, energy, as well as cultural and humanitarian initiatives.
The leaders concluded their conversation by reviewing the schedule and preparations for upcoming high-level bilateral events.
