Shavkat Mirziyoyev awarded Georgia’s highest state honor
President Shavkat Mirziyoyev has been awarded the Order of the Golden Fleece, one of Georgia's highest state decorations, during official events held in Tbilisi on July 2.
The award was presented by Georgian President Mikheil Kavelashvili in recognition of Mirziyoyev's significant contribution to strengthening the multifaceted partnership between Uzbekistan and Georgia.
Accepting the honor, Shavkat Mirziyoyev thanked Kavelashvili, Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze, and Parliament Speaker Shalva Papuashvili for the distinction. He also wished the people of Georgia peace, prosperity, and continued development.

Established in 1998, the Order of the Golden Fleece is among Georgia's highest state awards. It is conferred on individuals who have made an outstanding contribution to strengthening relations with foreign countries and international organizations, as well as to promoting Georgian culture, science, and the arts.

The order takes its name from the ancient Greek myth of the Golden Fleece and the historic kingdom of Colchis, located in what is now western Georgia.
Previous recipients of the award include Queen Elizabeth II of the United Kingdom, King Abdullah II of Jordan, former German Chancellor Gerhard Schröder, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, former Azerbaijani President Heydar Aliyev, and other prominent international figures.

During his visit, Mirziyoyev also signed the honorary guest book at the Orbeliani Palace, leaving a message with his best wishes.
