Gov’t announces schedule for next Open Budget campaign

The second round of the Open Budget program for 2026 will begin on July 15, giving citizens another opportunity to propose projects aimed at addressing local community needs.

The upcoming campaign will be the 11th season of the participatory budgeting initiative since its launch.

Under the approved schedule, project proposals will be accepted from July 15 through August 3. Submitted initiatives will then undergo a review and selection process between August 4 and 18.

The promotion stage, during which participants can present and advocate for their proposals, will take place from August 19 to 21. Public voting is scheduled for August 22–31.

Projects receiving the most votes will be announced as winners on September 1, marking the 35th anniversary of Uzbekistan's independence.

An additional selection stage to identify further winning projects will be held from September 1 to 10.

Officials have encouraged citizens to take an active part in the initiative by submitting proposals aimed at improving their neighborhoods and addressing issues affecting their local communities.
