Ambassador Furkat Sidikov presents credentials to Brazilian President

The official ceremony took place at the Itamaraty Palace in Brasília and was attended by representatives of Brazil's Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Presidential Office.

During their meeting, President Lula asked the ambassador to convey his sincere greetings and best wishes to President Shavkat Mirziyoyev and the people of Uzbekistan.

The Brazilian side reaffirmed its interest in deepening bilateral relations, describing Uzbekistan as a promising and reliable partner. Brazil also expressed readiness to intensify high-level political dialogue, expand trade, investment and economic cooperation, and give practical substance to collaboration between the two countries.

Brazilian officials also thanked Uzbekistan for its consistent support of Brazil's initiatives at the United Nations, BRICS and other international organizations.

As part of his visit, Sidikov held separate meetings with Brazilian Foreign Ministry officials and heads of state agencies.

The talks resulted in a number of agreements, including preparations for future high-level visits and meetings, the establishment of an intergovernmental commission on trade and economic cooperation, and broader use of Uzbekistan's first Trade House in Rio de Janeiro to promote commercial ties.

The two sides also agreed to facilitate exports of Uzbek mineral fertilizers, strengthen cooperation in geology, higher education and sports, and introduce simplified procedures to improve access for Uzbek products to the Brazilian market.

In addition, they agreed to work with the support of the Brazilian government to prepare a schedule of meetings with leading Brazilian companies, organize reciprocal business visits and develop new investment proposals.
