Spending on education services in Uzbekistan nears UZS 19 trillion in five months
The volume of education services provided in Uzbekistan reached UZS 18.8 trillion during the first five months of 2026, marking a 21% increase compared with the same period last year.
According to the National Statistics Committee, higher education accounted for the largest share of the sector, representing 44.7% of the total value of education services delivered between January and May.
Tashkent recorded the highest volume of education services among the country's regions, totaling UZS 9.7 trillion. It was followed by Samarkand Region with UZS 1.3 trillion and Fergana Region with UZS 1.1 trillion.
Among the remaining regions, education services amounted to UZS 918.9 billion in Andijan region, UZS 908.4 billion in Tashkent region, UZS 901.3 billion in Namangan region, UZS 799 billion in Bukhara region, and UZS 782.2 billion in Kashkadarya region.
Khorezm region recorded UZS 578.9 billion in education services, followed closely by Surkhandarya region with UZS 577.5 billion and the Republic of Karakalpakstan with UZS 533.2 billion.
The lowest figures were reported in Jizzakh region at UZS 279.9 billion, Navoi region at UZS 244.4 billion, and Syrdarya region at UZS 192.1 billion.
