The figures were presented during a briefing on the Children's Ombudsman's activities for the first six months of the year.
During the reporting period, the ombudsman's office received 1,147 complaints related to children's rights.
Based on those complaints, authorities opened eight criminal cases and 15 administrative proceedings over violence against children. Prosecutors also overturned six decisions refusing to initiate criminal proceedings and sent the materials back for additional review.
The Children's Ombudsman carried out 56 monitoring visits to institutions where children are not free to leave at their own discretion. During those visits, officials held individual and group meetings with more than 1,289 children.
In response to violations of children's rights, the ombudsman's office applied 18 legal measures, including four warnings, seven formal submissions, five legal opinions and two motions requesting prosecutorial appeals against court rulings.
The office also submitted proposals on 43 draft laws and regulations aimed at strengthening legislation on children's rights.
In cooperation with UNICEF, the Children's Ombudsman conducted a social survey involving more than 9,500 children to assess awareness of the Law on Protecting Children from All Forms of Violence.
