The plans were discussed at a meeting chaired by President Shavkat Mirziyoyev on measures to maintain stability in the oil and gas market and ensure uninterrupted supplies of hydrocarbons to households and the economy.
The meeting reviewed oil and gas production, imports, processing, storage and distribution. Officials noted that demand for energy resources is rising as industrial capacity expands and household consumption increases.
The president stressed the need to maintain stable supplies to the domestic market, particularly during periods of seasonal demand, adhere to supply schedules and prevent unjustified price increases. Authorities were instructed to accurately assess the needs of different industries and regions.
New wells planned at five fields
A key focus of the meeting was Uzbekneftegaz’s efforts to maintain stable gas production by commissioning new wells and making more efficient use of existing fields.
The company plans to bring 27 new wells into operation in August. Work at the Yangi Kultak, Niyoz, Koratau, Marvarid and Tegirmon fields is expected to provide an additional 887,000 cubic meters of gas production.
Officials were instructed to monitor the process daily, from drilling to connecting the new wells to the gas transmission network. They were also told to ensure uninterrupted electricity supplies and reliable operation of production infrastructure.
The meeting also addressed the supply of raw materials to oil and gas companies and the need to increase production of goods in demand on the domestic market. Officials stressed the importance of delivering sufficient energy resources to the regions on time and building the necessary reserves in advance.
The authorities were also tasked with coordinating companies involved in the production, transportation and sale of hydrocarbons. To help maintain price stability, they were instructed to ensure sufficient market supply, sell products on the exchange in line with demand and reduce production and logistics costs.
Liquefied gas target raised to 606,000 tonnes
Uzbekneftegaz was instructed to increase liquefied gas production to 606,000 tonnes by the end of 2026, up from the previously planned 520,000 tonnes.
The company must ensure that forecast production targets for oil and gas are met to maintain balance in the domestic market, Mirziyoyev said.
He also ordered closer monitoring of market participants to prevent artificial shortages and other practices aimed at driving up prices.
Officials were instructed to analyze domestic market demand on a daily basis, identify potential risks to energy supplies in advance and take the necessary measures to prevent disruptions.
