A joint commission from the two countries held a meeting in Kyrgyzstan’s Kadamjay district in Batken region to discuss organizational and technical issues related to the exchange of land plots.

The Kyrgyz side was led by First Deputy Minister of Labor Kamchibek Dosmatov, while Uzbekistan’s delegation was headed by First Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs Botir Kudratkhujaev.

The two sides reviewed the implementation of previously reached agreements, focusing on the citizenship status of residents in the areas to be exchanged, their relocation, property and economic matters, and other related issues.

Following the meeting, the sides approved the composition of a joint working group comprising representatives of relevant ministries, government agencies and local authorities from both countries.

The group will address issues related to the citizenship of residents in the exchanged areas, relocation arrangements, the transfer and acceptance of state-owned property, formalization of citizens’ property rights, land use and social protection.

The parties also agreed to ensure continuity in the education of residents affected by the territorial exchange.

Members of the working group will visit the areas concerned and regularly report to the co-chairs of the joint commission on the work carried out and its results.
