According to data from the National Statistics Committee, 1,649 people arrived in the country for permanent residence in January–June, up by 976 from the same period in 2025. The figure was 2.5 times higher year on year.

Russia was the largest source of new permanent residents, with 580 people moving to Uzbekistan. Kazakhstan ranked second with 362, followed by Tajikistan with 147. The remaining 560 people came from other countries.

Tashkent city was the most popular destination, receiving 1,089 new permanent residents. Tashkent region ranked second with 269, while the Republic of Karakalpakstan received 115.

The numbers were considerably lower in other parts of the country. Navoi region recorded 31 new permanent residents, followed by Samarkand with 22, Khorezm with 21, Surkhandarya with 18, Syrdarya and Fergana with 15 each, Bukhara and Namangan with 13 each, Jizzakh with 12, Andijan with 11 and Kashkadarya with five.
