The company is particularly interested in banks ranked among the top three in the market, Lion Finance Group CEO Archil Gachechiladze told Bloomberg.

Gachechiladze said the company is looking to expand Bank of Georgia’s digital banking model into new markets, with a focus on large banks. He said the group was considering banks among the top three to five players in the market.

Gachechiladze did not identify any potential target or provide details of possible negotiations.

Uzbekistan’s largest state-owned banks by assets include the National Bank of Uzbekistan, Agrobank, Uzsanoatqurilishbank, Asakabank and Xalq Bank.
