The number of foreign tourists visiting Uzbekistan hit 9.1 million over the January–August period, up 21.1% from the same timeframe last year, according to the Tourism Committee's report on September 8.

The country welcomed 1.4 million tourists in August alone, following 7.7 million arrivals in the first seven months of the year.

Tourist arrivals from Malaysia doubled, while arrivals from Japan increased 1.5-fold, from the United States by 40% and from Russia by 30%. Arrivals from Germany rose by 25%, while France and the UK saw 21% increases and Türkiye recorded a 15% rise.

Exports of tourism services reached $4.6 billion, up 53.5% compared with the same period last year, the committee said.
