Speaking about Uzbekistan’s position in a world marked by rising tensions and declining trust, Mirziyoyeva said the country’s approach was based on openness, good-neighborly relations and dialogue.
“We stand for peace, cooperation and respect for human dignity,” she said.
Mirziyoyeva said Uzbekistan wants to see the UN remain a strong international organization capable of preserving its authority and playing an independent role in addressing global challenges.
“We need a UN that not only makes decisions, but also implements them,” she stressed.
Her speech covered a range of issues, including changes in Central Asia, reforms in Uzbekistan, the environmental consequences of the Aral Sea disaster, the development of artificial intelligence, the rule of law and human rights.
She also addressed international security and broader global challenges, saying that no country could resolve them alone.
“At a time when the world is increasingly faced with the question of ‘whose side are you on?’, Uzbekistan stands for peace,” Mirziyoyeva said.
“We are on the side of our people, our young people who are capable of determining their own future, we are on the side of peace,” she added.
Mirziyoyeva said Uzbekistan is ready to contribute to building a future based on trust and mutual respect.
