The talks focused on Uzbekistan’s ongoing accession process to the WTO and the remaining tasks needed to complete it.
“I would like to thank Ms. Okonjo-Iweala for her continued support and expert assistance. We have covered a large part of this path, and it is very important that we maintain our momentum and complete the work we have started,” Mirziyoyeva said following the meeting.
Uzbekistan is expected to complete its WTO accession by December 2026. The country aims to finalize the process after securing an investment-grade credit rating.
The meeting was held as part of Mirziyoyeva’s visit to the United States, where she has also held talks with representatives of international financial institutions and the US business community.
