Mirziyoyev received Infantino in Tashkent on September 30, with the upcoming tournament being the main focus of their meeting.
The sides noted the effective cooperation established between Uzbekistan and FIFA on joint programmes to promote football and increase interest in the sport, particularly among young people.
They also discussed expanding the partnership in several areas, including the transformation of football administration and management, identifying young talent and helping promising players develop their potential.
The sides further considered strengthening international-level training for coaches, referees, managers, sports doctors and technical specialists.
Particular attention was paid to accelerating preparations for hosting FIFA tournaments and events in Uzbekistan, as well as the process of opening a FIFA regional office in Tashkent.
