Islom Abdullayev, first deputy chairman of Uzsuvtaminot, announced the measure at a press conference in Tashkent on October 30.
He said that if consumers fail to settle their water and sewerage debts within the prescribed period, the matter will be referred for collection through notarial or court proceedings.
“If the obligations are still not fulfilled within the prescribed period, consumers will face restrictions on their ability to pay for electricity,” Abdullayev said.
The new procedure is scheduled to take effect on January 1, 2027.
Sanitation companies are responsible for ensuring that waste collection fees are calculated accurately and fairly.
