The figure was disclosed by Sukhrob Hamroyev, first deputy chairman of Uzbekneftegaz, in an interview with the Uzbekistan 24 TV channel following a meeting chaired by President Shavkat Mirziyoyev on October 6.

“By the end of the year, 22.8 billion cubic meters of gas will be produced, and we will ensure that our other industrial products also meet their targets in full,” Hamroyev said.

However, the statement that other production targets would be fulfilled in full does not mean that Uzbekneftegaz’s gas production target has been met. A plan presented in January called for the company to produce at least 25.4 billion cubic meters of gas in 2026.

The expected output of 22.8 billion cubic meters would therefore be about 2.6 billion cubic meters below the planned level, or roughly 10% short of the target.

Uzbekneftegaz reported producing 25.2 billion cubic meters of natural gas in 2025. The company’s projected 2026 output would thus also be around 2.4 billion cubic meters lower than last year’s production.
